Tackling Chronic Pain and PTSD: A Journey with Equiscope Therapy

Tackling Chronic Pain and PTSD: A Journey with Equiscope Therapy
October 27, 2024

Chronic pain can be debilitating and worsen by frequent injuries, surgeries and psychological issues. Conditions like nerve damage, carpal tunnel syndrome, hypertension and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—especially when they coexist—can make everyday life difficult. Even though traditional approaches—like medicine, physical therapy and even surgery—are frequently the first line of treatment, these may not completely address the underlying problems, particularly in situations when the pain has various complicated root causes.

An alternative to traditional pain treatment is now available with Equiscope therapy, an innovative microcurrent technology. By focusing on targeted areas of pain, microcurrent therapy is used to help normalize cellular electrical activity, promoting the repair of unhealthy tissue and aiding in one’s rehabilitation by supporting the body’s recovery processes. Equiscope procedures are especially beneficial for chronic pain brought on by nerve damage, joint injury or muscular strain because the procedures strive to regulate cellular function at a fundamental level in contrast to traditional treatments that prioritize alleviating symptoms.

Understanding the Complexities of Chronic Pain: A 39-Year-Old’s Experience

This blog focuses on a 39-year-old man who is currently employed as a Conflict and Complaint Manager, following 18 years of military reserve duty. His military career left him suffering from multiple chronic diseases and injuries that have impacted his overall constitution and quality of life. He has been actively managing his pain since April 2023 with complementary Equiscope sessions.

The client’s main health issues are hypertension, or high blood pressure, which is being treated with medicine, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is the outcome of his military duty service, that impairs his emotional, mental and sleep quality. He also has bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, causing extreme pain and weakness in both wrists. To further compound his pain profile, he has had surgery on both shoulders in the past. The client’s right wrist injury, inguinal hernia and groin tear exacerbate the situation. In addition to his frequent headaches and migraines, he also suffers from a severe phobia of flying as a result of witnessing a horrific plane crash and the untimely death of a close friend.

The client most recently had pain and numbness in his left thumb as a result of nerve compression, which was caused by a constriction at the cervical spine’s C5/6 vertebrae. Despite undergoing conventional therapies—such as chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture and shockwave therapy—his symptoms have persisted, leading him to explore alternative protocols, such as Equiscope therapy.

Equiscope Protocols for Chronic Pain and Nerve Damage

Equiscope protocols have been tailored to specifically target areas of inflammation and injury for this client, with the goal of easing nerve compression and lowering total discomfort.
The following actions have been taken during the sessions:

  • Spinal Protocols: A 15-minute headband session aimed at enhancing spinal circulation and minimizing inflammation was conducted after plates were applied along the T1–L5 vertebrae to relieve nerve and spinal pressure.
  • Wrist Protocols: To improve blood flow and nerve function in the damaged areas, plates were positioned on the inside and outside of both wrists. A Channel 2 headband was also used.
  • Lower Body Protocols: To address pain stemming from his right SI joint, hip, lateral knee and ankle, plates were applied to help reduce inflammation and promote pain reduction within these joints.

Progress and Challenges: The Journey So Far

The client’s condition has significantly improved since starting the Equiscope procedures. Despite his severe pain, he has continued to train in jiu-jitsu five times a week and has dropped over 20 pounds in the process. However, his intense physical activity has likely slowed his overall recovery as the body needs sufficient time to rest and heal between sessions. He recently consulted a neurologist because of continuous numbness in his thumb, wrist and arm. The neurologist diagnosed him with nerve damage in his left elbow and wrist. The tremendous physical demands he continues to place on his body have slowed his healing process, even though Equiscope therapy has helped to regulate his discomfort.

Equiscope: A Non-Invasive Solution for Complex Pain

In contrast to traditional pain management techniques, which frequently concentrate on providing short-term symptom relief, the Equiscope uses microcurrent therapy and biofeedback to target injured tissue at the cellular level, normalizing cellular electrical activity that promotes healthier tissues and the reduction of pain and inflammation.

Equiscope therapy has shown to be very successful in reducing and resolving chronic pain brought on by muscle strain or nerve injury, providing clients opt for a non-invasive option to surgery or long-term drug use. By targeting the underlying cause of the pain—whether due to nerve compression, joint inflammation or muscle dysfunction—Equiscope protocols can support the body’s ability to heal itself.

Looking Ahead: Steps Toward a Pain-Free Future

While the client’s progress has been promising, he will probably need to balance more sessions with rest in order to fully recover. The continued Equiscope procedures will be directed toward lowering his pain threshold and augmenting his body’s ability to heal, particularly in the regions where nerve damage has occurred.

The client will continue to receive Equiscope sessions and, in the interim, take steps to lessen the physical stress that exercises like jiu-jitsu are putting on his body. It is anticipated that with time, relaxation, a customized recovery plan and Equiscope procedures client will experience long-lasting pain relief.
