Understanding the Challenges of Trauma and Pain Management
For many veterans, the psychological and physical aftermath of service can linger long after the uniform is shed. Anxiety, chronic pain, and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) are among the conditions that frequently exist alongside one another, creating a complicated web of health issues. Medications and conventional physical modalities are often used in traditional therapies to these problems, which might occasionally overlook the complex nature of the symptoms. This is where innovative options like Equiscope Therapy can come into play, offering a comprehensive, non-invasive healing journey.
This blog focuses on a 50-year-old retired veteran whose story demonstrates how Equiscope therapy can have a transforming effect. Following a serious horseback riding accident in June 2022 that required surgery to fix her broken ankle, she was also dealing with a plethora of mental health issues, such as anxiety, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and chronic pain, in addition to her physical rehabilitation. She tried out Equiscope Therapy in an attempt to discover a way to effectively manage her pain and psychological discomfort.
The Struggles: More Than Just Pain
This retired veteran was dealing with a complex network of psychological difficulties in addition to her physical injury. She went home with an entirely new perspective on her health after spending 70 days in a trauma therapy center, leaving her civilian job on post to put her health first. Nevertheless, despite taking medicine to treat her depression and PTSD, everyday living still presented challenges.
She started having severe sinus pressure and exhaustion recently, which interfered with her sleep and elevated her levels of chronic stress. Her predicament was further exacerbated by family relationships; her mother had recently moved in after divorcing her husband, and her two teenage daughters were living with their father, which added to the emotional strain.
The Solution: A Holistic Approach with Equiscope Therapy
In order to manage pain, relieve nasal pressure, and lessen mental exhaustion, the veteran started Equiscope Therapy. Her routine varied during the eight sessions, taking into account the emotional and physical aspects that were affecting her health. Every session was customized to fit her particular requirements, employing a mix of methods for a comprehensive approach.
- Facial Therapy & Headband Protocol: The first sessions were allotted to facial therapy in order to reduce her sinus pressure. The sessions ended with the application of a headband that was intended to promote relaxation and clear the sinuses.
- Meridian Therapy: By focusing on particular meridian points, the deeper emotional roots of her stress and fatigue were addressed while also supporting her kidneys (B 23) and lungs (LU 1).
- Full Spine Protocol: To relieve lower back discomfort and the trauma stored in her body, plates were placed from T1 to L5, with extra channel 2 plates applied bilaterally on the PSIS.
- Ankle, Hand, & Back Pain Management: As part of the protocol, she received targeted therapy for the injury to her left ankle, which was treated with plates to lessen discomfort and swelling. Her lower back was the focus of another session, which helped to relieve the chronic pain that interfered with her day-to-day activities. Plates were also placed on her right hand, where a dog bite had caused significant stress after the family had to make the difficult decision to put their dog down. This was combined with ear clips on channel 2 as it may help reduce local pain.
The Results: A Steady Path to Healing
Despite the difficulties encountered, the Equiscope Therapy methodology has resulted in significant improvements. Particularly during sessions that targeted specific areas like the ankle and spine, local pain has significantly lessened. Her sinus pressure has also progressively dropped and every session has added to her sense of comfort.
Even with these improvements, she still struggles with exhaustion, which is made worse by the responsibilities of her daily life and the psychological effects of her past experiences. She is unwavering in her dedication to her wellness path, though. Although she had previously skipped appointments, she is now passionately focused on attending her sessions on a regular basis since her commitment has strengthened.
A Future of Healing
This case demonstrates the significant impact that Equiscope Therapy has on soldiers overcoming both psychological and physical obstacles. This therapy may assist people in taking back their lives following trauma by addressing underlying problems and offering comprehensive support. While her journey is ongoing, the improvements she has made thus far give hope for long-term comfort and improved wellbeing.
